Hi all.
For a couple of months now I have had temporary errors in the analog readings 1 and 2 of my Cerbo GX. The resistance values read by the Cerbo GX suddenly increase, for a period of minutes to several hours, and then gradually return to the correct values.
For example, with the sensor delivering 40 Ohm, the Cerbo GX displays 60 Ohm and the tank level corresponding to 60 Ohm, but by measuring directly on the connection block I verify that the sensor continues to deliver the correct value of 40 Ohms. After a while the values return to their normal levels, so I have lost the reliability of the actual fuel I have in my tanks.
It only happens to me with inputs 1 and 2 (fuel). Inputs 3 (water) and 4 (waste) always work correctly.
I have updated from v3.22 to v3.51 and the problem continues.
I have one of the first Cerbo GX units and until a couple of months ago everything was working perfectly.
Any help or clues as to what could be happening?
Hi Paco, welcome to the forum!
Concerning your analogue tank readings: inspect the fysical connections of both the wiring, aswel as the connector block going in to the Cerbo GX, if they are clean and make good contact.
Next to this, you can always do a reboot, or complete Off - wait 30 seconds - On, of the Cerbo GX. To assure that everything restarts with correct software, and resistance readings.
I know this is more or less a basic approach of faults, but you need to start somewhere. And in a lot of faulty situations, the fault it self is often a simple issue.
Hi Theo, thanks for your quick reply.
Right now I have correct readings, but I have still followed all your recommendations, and I continue to receive correct readings.
Now I have to wait, because as I already mentioned it is an intermittent problem, which comes without warning and after a while it corrects itself without having to do anything.
I suppose it is a hardware problem, because if it were a software problem it should be permanent, although I cannot be 100% sure. Perhaps it is the constant current injection circuit to be able to read the resistance values.
Another small problem that I have detected is that from the new user interface it does not allow me to change the average time of the readings of tanks 1 and 2, but it does in tanks 3 and 4. I have changed to the old interface to lower these values from 3s to 1s, and then I have changed back to the new interface.
I will comment more when I get erroneous readings again.
Greetings.
