New marine install.
2 x 100 aH Renogy lithiums
Renogy MPPT (bought before this renovation, wish it was Victron)
2 x Renogy 100w solar panels
VE.Can Shunt
Cerbo GX MkII
GX50
Phoenix Smart Inverter 1200
This is a dedicated power supply for a 12v A/C, a 12v water heater, a 12v refrigerator, and a Starlink mini.
Question 1:
I would like to configure the inverter as AC1 with Shore Power as AC2. I have a BlueSea transfer switch that controls power to the AC panel. I can’t change the generator label but is there any reason this won’t work? I am adding a Smart Shunt to the Start and House batteries to be able to see them.
Question 2:
I would like to monitor my two fuel tanks which have analog tank senders. Do I just run a wire pair for the tank senders to the Cerbo GX. They don’t go anywhere now but I have checked them with a multimeter and they do have a variable output.
Thanks!
Question 2.
You need to find out what type of output signal your senders have and what outputs when empty and full. Resistive senders can be connected to the Cerbo mkII. Voltage (max 10V signal) or 4-20mA current sensors need to be connected via a GX Tank 140.
Are you going to parallel your existing analog tank gages with the Cerbo? I’m trying to do this but am still awaiting instructions on how best to achieve the configuration. Would appreciate an update on your setup.
I have paralleled the tank sender connections with the Cerbo GX analog connections, but the results are far from satisfactory. The Port tank is connected to the NMEA 2000 network via a Maretron 3135 analog-to-digital converter. The Starboard tank is connected to the NMEA 2000 network via an Oceanic Systems 3125 resistive to digital adapter. The Raymarine Axiom 12 Plus RVX ‘sees’ both adapters in the network list, but is only showing the level from the OS 3125. The Cerbo GX Mk II appears to recognize that there are two resistive inputs connected; both show as ‘open circuits’. The Cerbo shows several 500-level inputs: 501 for the House battery, 502 for the Port tank, and 503 for the Starboard tank. Oddly, it is showing a level for the 503 Starboard tank. I can’t make any sense of this. I have finally found a source for another OC 3125 to replace the Maretron 3125.
