Cerbo GX MK2 – Confusion About Delivered Product Version

Hello,

referring to the topic Cerbo GX MK2 – what are the differences?, I have the following concern.

I ordered a Cerbo GX MK2 but apparently received the older version.

The order confirmation states part number BPP900451100, but the product I received shows part number BPP900450110.

When I asked the seller, I was told that only the new model exists and that the part number was therefore irrelevant.

I have my doubts about this statement and would appreciate clarification.

Best regards,
Peter

Compare photos of the devices.
The old one has BMS-Can and VE.Can, the new one has VE.Can 1 and VE.Can 2.

Thank you for your reply, Matthias.

I haven’t opened the sealed packaging because I might want to return the device.

According to your statement and the photos on the packaging, this is the new device.

I would find it helpful for beginners to state this clearly on the product packaging. Who likes to buy outdated hardware, regardless of whether they need it now or later?

The MK1 isn’t produced anymore and also out of stock at the Victron warehouse for at last 2 or 3 months.
Also the MK1 never came in that new box.

And the hardware (cpu etc) is identical, only the CAN ports are different.

The RJ45 sockets are rotated 180° as well so it’s easier to reach the connector clip.
And if I’m not mistaken, the 3d USB port is now fully functional instead of power only

Correct. Some nice cosmetic and practical changes but not exactly making the mk1 obsolete.
If it had a resource bump like the ekrano, I would consider an upgrade.

Hey to add:

Identification: BPP900450100 is the first generation Cerbo GX.

Both BPP900450110 and BPP900451100 are the Cerbo GX MK2.

Exactly the same, except for location the factory producing them.
