Cerbo GX Failed after firmware update

OurCerbo GX updatedthis morning to firmware V3.60-25 and following update the remote display no longer functions. Also when I originally connected via the online portal and tried ‘remote console’ I got a message ‘Cerbo GX is overloaded and real time data unavailable’. Now though couple of hours later I dont get that message when trying remote console just a blank display. Through remote console I can connect to the Gateway (Cerbo GX and see its data.

Wonder if the update has corrupted the firmware on GX?

You’re running a beta. Betas have known issues, rollback to the production release and all will be well.
It is unwise to run betas if you aren’t going to stay up to date on release notes, current bugs etc.
The busy notice can happen after a restart or upgrade, it is also affected by any software mods or third party devices connected.
Beta topics should be posted in the beta forums, and ideally not on the normal production-based sections.

Thanks for reply Nick. Unfortunatly I had left Automatic updates set and assume this happened overnight? The only problem I have is that I cannot obtain a ‘GUI screen’ either on the controller or remote via the Victron portal so cannot see how I can select the earlier firmware version.

Easiest way is to connect to the built-in wifi from a laptop or mobile device, you can then browse to it’s internal LAN console and change it there.
The process is in the cerbo manual if you get stuck.
The alternative is to reflash it by booting the production image on a usb stick but this is a bit more work (Process is also in the manual).

Thanks Nick managed to get the previous firmware back on and all good.

Strange though when I tried to access via the ‘venus’ network, login password was requested and I entered the one I had set. Unfortunatly this failed and so did 000000. Looked on the label fixed to the GX module but only password I could see was WiFi. So reset the unit using pin at bottom of module with long press to reset network. Then manged to get in using VRM portal and changing the GUI to the new one. This allowed me to access settings and change back to previous firmware. Interestingly the HUI I was using in VRM portal did not appear in the local wired GX display.

Anyway all sorted and thanks for your help

Glad you’re sorted.
