Cerbo GX Audible alarm function won't activate

I am a professional installer and just installed a Cerbo GX MKII in a new system. I have programmed all the components and connected the Cerbo to my VRM account for support for the customer. While programming the Cerbo, I attempted to turn on the Audible alarm function slide switch in the settings. No matter what I do, I cannot get the slide switch to activate (or even move). I have tried from the GX touch 70 and VRM remote console. I have rebooted the Cerbo multiple times and even conducted a factory reset to try to resolve the issue. Have any of you ever had the same issue? If so, how did you resolve it? I have emailed Victron directly about the issue and am waiting for a response, but thought I would try here as well. My distributor will replace the Cerbo if I can’t get it resolved, but I am trying to not go through that hassle if I don’t need to.

Hi did you get an answer to this question

We’re having the same issue. I suspected the internal alarm might be damaged, but after installing a replacement Cerbo GX, we still have the issue. I’ve checked every setting that I can find that could be related. The new Cerbo does allow the switch icon to toggle, but it still doesn’t turn blue or activate. I’m at a complete loss at this point.

Does it make any difference if you set relay 1 for “Alarm Relay”?

Under “Integratations” on the menu.

Found out that all my installations running 3.72 have this same problem, installations with 3.60 still have a functioning audible alarm.
Anybody else that has this problem? Is it a firmware issue or some hidden setting?

I’ve tried this but it’s also not working.

I have several installations with v3.72 firmware functioning normally, but 2 of them will not allow the audible alarm toggle to be activated. A new Cerbo replacement did not solve the issue, and relay 1 is set for alarm on all of our installations. Our Victron rep has not responded with anything further to try.

Could you check the serial numbers?

Just went through all my installations and found out that all Cerbo’s starting with HQ2532xxxxx are affected. Cerbo’s with serialnumbers HQ2503xxxxx have functioning audible alarms. Since we can’t find an answer here I’m going now through the official channels.

I ended up getting a replacement Cerbo from my distributor under warranty when I couldn’t get it to work. I’m not sure what the serial number was on the unit that wouldn’t work.

I believe you may be onto something here. I have since found a third installation with this issue. All 3 have the newest firmware with serial numbers HQ2519xxxxx, HQ2525xxxxx, and HQ 2541xxxxx. So far all of our functioning systems, that I have checked, have earlier serial numbers.

I’ve got a reply from Victron through my distributor that it’s an old software bug. The suggested solution is to switch to the old GUI, turn on the audible alarm and switch back to the new GUI. I’m going Friday back to my client with this issue to test it.

Thanks for the update! Our rep recommended rolling back to an older firmware version that we are trying now. But, using the the old UI to change the setting seems like a simpler solution if that works.

I’ve tested this out today and it works! Changed to classic GUI, turned on the audible alarm toggle and switched back to the new GUI. Tested the audible alarm in classic GUI and new GUI, both work now.
