Cerbo GX Screen Not Working, can't cancel alarms!

Hi everyone,

The LCD screen for my Cerbo GX froze and then went totally blank. Without the touchscreen I can’t cancel the “grid lost alarm.” Now whenever I’m not hooked into shore power, I’m either stuck listening to the alarm beep, or I have to plug a running laptop into the MK3 USB interface just to stop the beeping.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Power-cycling the Cerbo GX

  • Plugging the touchscreen into different USB ports on the Cerbo

  • Reseating the HDMI cable

  • Checking the visible cabling (looks like the install used extenders – the USB and HDMI cables are separate for the last 3–4 feet but I can’t see the full run)

None of that fixed the issue.

Other notes:

  • This system is in a 25fb Tradewind Airstream.

  • VRMConnect doesn’t help – the Bluetooth connection always fails.

  • Without the touchscreen, I don’t know how I’d connect the system to Wi-Fi for remote access.

Has anyone run into this before, or is there a workaround to silence alarms and access settings without a working screen? Any troubleshooting advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

The extender certainly could be the issue - extending the GX Touch’s cabling is expressly not supported and known to cause issues.

That said, Remote Console should get you into the Cerbo to be able to silence / turn off alarms: 8. Accessing the GX device
