Currently running version 3.70 ~27 large. I am trying to update to 3.80 ~27. The update seems successful but the cerbo will not boot to the new version. I can see it under stored firmware and I have the option to boot the new version, but it just defaults back to 3.70. The file system is not full, I have tried non beta version, the normal firmware instead of large, nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions? I am not crazy about factory resetting and installing from SD card, but I may have to.
Has anyone seen this before? The cerbo is working just fine but I am doing some dev work with Signalk and I want the latest version of Cerbo. Plus I want to be able to take updates in the future.
Victron policy is don’t update a working system…
Unless there is a particular feature that an update affects, and you need that feature, then once a system is operating in a stable condition, then it’s best left alone.
Whilst this is not a solution as to why your firmware won’t boot, it is a work-arround.
Other option is to try downloading the update again - you will have to do that on a pc, and load it to an sd card, then get the Cerbo to read the sd card by rebooting. It should work with either the update or the full image. It is possible for a download to get corrupted, yet still report a successful download.
@If you are doing dev work you should maybe consider the latest stable production version 3.73 or large and not beta versions? I also found exceptionally a powerdown as opposed to reboot is required after an upgrade.
