Cerbo and VRM displays and behavior questions

The animations of my solar generator project. Multiplus ii 48/5KVa/70, 150/100 mppt, smart shunt 500/50, cerbo GX, EM530 power meter and 600AH eco worthy server rack batteries. The solar array is 6 Heliene 144HC-535 bifacial connected in 3x3 series parallel.

So far, the system has lowered my energy bill by 20% per month without grid back feed while providing over a day of backup power to my essential loads. The EM530 makes sure all power remains inside my home and excess charges the batteries.

I started this project in march and the learning curve was steep. So as a new builder I’d like to ask a couple of questions about these screens.

  1. The cerbo and VRM animations differ slightly. Because ESS 1 is in effect, the cerbo correctly shows no current flow from the battery to the multiplus while the VRM display does show flow. Is this a display bug or a setting I may have missed?

  2. The VRM shows SOC with a decimal and tenth precision. Can I configure the cerbo to do the same? With 600AH of battery more precision would be nice. Even to .01 if I add another 600AH.

  3. Every time the cerbo updates or is reset, it resets the EM 530 back to 3 phase display and I have to physically change it back to 2 phase at the meter. Can I stop this behavior?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

did you use the shmarshunt as battery monitor ? or for the solar?

Smartshunt is set as the current BM. I have the ecoworthy stack connected vis CAN bus but if I use it as the BM it stops solar production at around 95%. When using the smartshunt as BM the system will continue to produce solar energy above 95% SOC.

Hi @mikey995

Is there an actual problem when the EM530 is set to 3 phase instead of 2 phase?

With kind regards,
Thiemo van Engelen

No, it just makes the cerbo and VRM show that 3rd phase on the displays as zero. I would just prefer to have it always show the correct configuration.

Also, is there a way to make the SOC display on the. Cerbo with .1 or .01 resolution?
