Need help figuring out a mismatch of data on VRM vs MPPTs
We have two inverters. Technically three but 2 x 3000VA Multiplus are setup in parallel so they act as one. The other is a Phoenix 800VA. This has a VE.Direct cable to the Cerbo. When the big inverters are off the CerboGX displays the small inverter. When I turn on the big inverters the display swaps and displays them. At anytime I can dive into the Cerbo menu devices and see them both.
What I think is happening is that the Cerbo is not counting all the energy consumed by the little inverter. Possibly none of it or maybe just the time when the others are on. We run an ice machine and/or a Slush machine for hours It really adds up
Anyone have this issue? Anyone know a smart and elegant solution?
It seems to me that Victron should be able to have the Cerbo capture the energy consumption from all the inverters and/or all of the devices listed simultaneously.
Mismatch: 17.37 kWh vs Cerbo 13kWh.
The system is not designed for multiple independent inverters, though you can connect them in specific circumstances.
As always, the manual is your friend, seek and ye shall find..
Requirements for forecast and consumption data on VRM
Multi or Quattro with a 26 or 27 hardware: the 7 digit firmware number needs to start with 26 or 27
VRM has always been built around requiring a vebus inverter system at its core to function correctly, not vedirect.
Thanks for replying. My problem isn’t “forecast and consumption”. Those numbers are good. I don’t see any detail in the manuals about where the Solar harvest data is derived from. Not forecasted, but actaul harvest.
Why doesn’t it just accept what the MPPTs list? They are all hooked up to the CerboGX. So it seems they backdoor the calculation, but why not take the information direct, then the number of inverters would not matter.
You can chart total yield and individual ones from mppts in the advanced tab widgets.
The dashboard derives its data from stats that depend on a vebus inverter so anything related to the vedirect inverter will not feature, though it too can be manually charted, depending on the stats it supports.
Yes, I have been charting those for a long time, but it’s a graph, it’ doesn’t provide an easy to read yeild number. A single simple accurate number to compare daily harvest would be ideal. Basically I wish for the dashboard to get it’s data from the source and show an accurate number. I still have no idea why it doesn’t do it that way. I don’t see a technical reason it shouldn’t do it that way.
