I have a customer that has a dual inverter split phase system which I installed three years ago with original Multiplus (non-UL) inverter chargers in an RV. Last night one of those Multiplus units failed with a large amount of smoke. There is nothing obvious as to the cause of the failure and the customer will be sending the failed Multiplus off for repair. However, the customer needs use of his system for a planned trip next week and the repairs will not be able to be completed in time. I would like to replace the failed Multiplus with a new one to get the customer up and running. Victron now only sells the original Multiplus in a UL rated version. Can I mix the UL rated original Multiplus with the non UL rated existing original Multiplus? Will this work when programming them in split phase? Has anyone ever mixed a UL and non UL rated Multiplus in a split phase system? I know Victron says the inverters need to be the same when programming them to work together in split phase or parallel. Will the UL vs non UL cause any issues? My distributor does not know the answer and is trying to get an answer from Victron. I thought I would ask here to see if anyone has done it or knows if it will work or not.
