Hi, can you tell me if 16mm2 stranded wire with ferrule will fit AC IN/OUT terminal on Multiplus II 5000kVA 230V (the newest revision, with screw terimnals)? Specification says it is 6AWG/13mm2 but some conversion tables says 6AWG is actually 16mm2 (and there are such cables available). I am asking because here standard cable crosssecitons are 10mm2 and then 16mm2 nothing between. 10mm2 sound a little low for AC OUT, with Power Assist it can deliver like 90amps. Thanks!
Hi @nedro,
6 awg is really 13 mm², but you’re right, sometimes manufacturers say 13 mm² but it’s 16…
Do you really need that much power? Because you could use a lot smaller cable if that just for your house. What is you maximum load?
If you need all 84 A, you should take a 10 kVA multi so you can work without overloading it. If you already purchased the 5 kVA, you should just try the 16 mm², but probably without ferrule. I tried to put 6 mm² cable in a 5kva multi with ferrules, it was not the easiest thing to do, so with 16 mm², I’m not sure.
