I’d like to use 10 AWG for AC in and 6 AWG for AC. I plan to only have 30A shore power input and set PowerAssist to .67 to target max output of 50A to be compatible with my breaker panel.
Will the 24/5000 terminals will allow me to connect 10 AWG to AC in and 6 AWG to AC out1?
When I ask AI, it tells me the smallest the terminals will accept is 6 AWG, but it also mentions spring loaded terminals. Looking at pictures of the 24/5000, it seems to have screw terminals rather than the spring terminals on other models that require inserting a screwdriver to raise the jaws. So I don’t believe AI.
It seems that at some point Victron changed the Multiplus II from screw to spring terminals, and didn’t bother updating the documentation. I have a 120 V 48/3000/35-50. It has spring terminals, but the docs (Rev 13 - 06/2026) still say “120 VAC connection Screw terminals 13mm² (6 AWG).”
Thanks for the feedback. I’m hoping they retained the screws on my model since it has 95A AC input rather than 50A on other models. My local Victron dealer did not know and did not have one in stock to check, so hopefully someone from corporate can chime in. Even if it has screws, still need to make sure it’s ok to use 10 AWG for something that is designed to accept 2 AWG. I think that kind of range is typical on Polaris connectors, for example, so hopefully ok.
