BMV712 issue displaying fluctuating voltage, multimeter from same supply shows steady voltage

I’m having an issue with a BMV-712 displaying fluctuating voltage between say 10.5 to 12.8 volts, just all over the place. While it is doing this, my multimeter shows a stead 12.8v. It does it sparingly, displays correct volts (steady) for a while, then randomly just goes all over the place. The terminals seem to be all good and tight.

I bought it new and has been in service only a few months. I also recently did a software update which didn’t fix it. Any ideas? Should I return it under warranty?

The small fuse holder can often be a source of voltage fluctuation if it is not tight, has got damp or corrosion. Also check the cable is well terminated.

Is the fluctuation on the display only and OK on the VictronConnect app. In this case it may be the connecting cable between the shunt and the monitor, loose, damp or cortoded.

Thanks, yes I did check that, the glass fuse holder was all good and tight. Although I just discovered that the mega fuse nut at the battery terminal distribution box load that is connected to the BMV temperature sensor lug on the was loose on the supply side! Hopefully that was the issue.
