1 x 12/1200 Phoenix Inverter with VE Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle
Smart Networking between BMV and MPPT (battery voltage and current)
Problem / Scenario.
My DC loads shut down at approximately 48% SOC.(my Inverter has been set to shut down on Voltage = to approximately 50% SOC.
However, my Smart BMV has been set to 15% Discharge floor and the SOC relay has been set to 15% set and 30% clear
I am aiming to discharge the battery (on the odd occasion in bad weather) to 15% before the BMV should shut down all loads and to enable loads again on 30% SOC.
So, as we understand, you use the relay output of the BMV to switch everything off at 15% SOC, that’s fine, we would not go lower than 20%, this to prolong your battery life.
That is the intention yes, not that it working as intended though. Not sure what am I doing wrong.
Thank you for the suggestion on the low end SOC shutdown - will change it.
Thank you for your help. I will set different (higher values) and see if I can get any wiser.
From the below one can see that ‘something’ is switching off the power at 48% SOC whilst drawing amps and coming back on when MPPT supply amps again…
Other than the internal BMS on this battery (cannot get any stats from this one) and the BMV there is nothing on this system that can shut it down.
