Bluetooth pairing failure

New here
I’ve just purchased a Smart Battery Protect 12/24|65, and I’m having issues with Bluetooth.
I have a brand new Motorola Edge 50 Pro, and I have reinstalled Victron Connect several times over.
I never seem to get the prompt for a PIN code.
I also have an older Samsung 10+, which connects fine (but I need to decommission it). I’ve tried everything in the debugging area, and I’ve also tried another identical Motorola phone with the same issue.
It would be good if the PIN code could be temporarily disabled. It could then be paired to the Victron Connect app, which can then be used to resecure it with a PIN.

If there was:

  1. another way to connect it with the app.
  2. a fix for the Motorola bluetooth system to present the PIN code request (Android 15)
    … I’d like to know
    Any help would be appreciated.
In the meantime I’ve managed to program it with the Samsung S10

Hi Greg,

One possible issue is that unlike the Galaxy S10+ which gives a popup asking for the pincode, other phones just show a notification in the top notification bar of the phone that a pincode is requested. Perhaps this is also the case with the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and you missed that notification?

Another possible problem is that the pairing can be “hijacked” by other apps. Were both phones in their factory state without any extra apps installed? Or do you perhaps have other apps installed for other devices that use bluetooth? Knows apps that give problems are the Topdon TopScan app and the FrSky Free Link app, but their are probably more.

With kind regards,
