Battery Protect issue

I’m having an issue with a battery protect device. It reduces current and voltage when a load is applied to it. It is inline from the main busbar to the DC panel. When the load is applied the voltage drops to 4.5v from 13.5. When the load is disconnected the voltage slowly recovers. The load is nothing more than a led light fixture that’s less than 2 amps DC. When the voltage drops it’s gives either an E1 or E3 code. Voltage on the input side stays high.

How do I tell if the unit is faulty?

Go to the product page, link below, scroll down to downloads, expand manuals and download the pre-RMA Instructions, these will give some tests. If you have ruled out the input dropping to 4.5V which would indicate a poor connection on the supply side and no short circuit on the ouput, then it does appear something is wrong.
