AC Loads shows 0W

Hi,

I installed an ET112 as a gridmeter .

In Gerbo gx this is configured as a gridmeter. ESS is set to External meter.

The AC Loads remains constant at 0 W, while there are AC Loads active.

Also: why is the battery discharging while there is enough PV power generated?

Is this a bug? Any suggestions?

I guess you have a PV inverter in the system that doesn’t communicate with the GX device.

Yes My PV inverter is on the AC side.

But what i dont understand is: the ET112 grid-meter is installed immediate after the Main MCB, so it knows the total sum of all loads. Is it not like this that While there is enough PV power , this PV power should be used to power the AC loads, the battery should not be discharged. I thought this was the main idea of ESS with a gridmeter?

Is your grid meter connected the right way, in and out on the right terminals?

does the system knows there is a pv inverter on ac out? (Ve config)

Yes, ET112 connected according to Victron Manual. from Main to pin 1 of the meter and from pin 2 of the meter to the rest of the Loads.

My pv converter is not on AC out, as far I can seen it. The converter is just one of the many AC Loads.

Was the ET112 not supposed to measure the total sum of current at the main entrance point? and then decide whether to charge or discharge the battery?

for example: Right now as I type this, there is PV production like 2 KW, I see that the battery is charging with 1 KW. The AC loads displays 0 W .

Where is the other 1 KW going?

Maybe I am seeing something in the wrong way?

Yes it sees the SUM of everything.
If you have 1kW PV and 1kW load the ET112 sees nothing.

The system doesn’t know that there is a PV inverter.

If you know you have 2kW PV, 1kW into the battery and the ET112 shows 0W → you have 1kW loads.
But again, the system doesn’t see that because the loads are supplied directly from PV.

You need another ET112 to measure the PV production.
Then the system knows the PV, grid, battery and AC OUT and can calculate the AC loads.

Time to order a second ET112
