AC input current control function does not work as expected.
Multipulus-II 120 volt, 30 amp AC input.
Cerbo GX Touch 50
System installed by Airstream.
System has a remote switch that changed the AC input current control between 30 amps and 10 amps. Tr-50 with Cerbo GX shows either 30 amps or 10 amps. It allows changing the value, but immediately returns to 30 or 10 when confirmed.
I wish to be able to limit the input current to 15 amps. What am I missing?
I used Victron connect through a MK 3 interface connected to my PC. I set “Current Limit Overruled by Remote” ON. I set "AC input current limit to “15.0A”.
However, input current limit did not actually change. I expected the battery charge to drop from 104 amps to 70 amps or so to lower the input current. It did not.
I tried this with the existing 30/10 switch plugged into the Multiplus and with it unplugged.
I tried this with the “Assist” function both on and off.
I tried using the Cerbo GX Touch after disconnecting the MK3. It let me change the current limit value, but immediately changed it to 30 amps as soon as I confirmed it.
I’ve seen a number of OEMs put odd limiters in place -whether through software or otherwise- to ensure that end-users cannot change pre-approved values.

Hi,
Can you say a bit more about the “remote switch”?
That might be overriding the other software value.
Perhaps you could disconnect this other remote switch and then see if the software value stays.
The Cerbo does let me change the “Grid current limit”. But it just resets it back to 30 amps when “confirmation” is clicked. The same thing happens in Victron Connect.
I have disconnected the switch from M and tried to change the input limit with both the Cerbo and Victron Connect. This did not change anything.

You may need to disable the input current limit control assistant that is installed on the MultiPlus and make sure that “overruled by remote” is ticked to be enabled.
I expect that will solve it (but then also disable your other switch, so save those settings first in case you want to revert to the hardware switch control).
"overruled by remote’ was OFF to start with. I turned it ON. It did not help.
How does one disable the “input current limit control assistant”?

After you have saved the settings and clicked the summary and screenshotted and written down the rules so that you can recreate it; click delete assistant, and then send settings.
