About the DESS category

It is not possible to make changes in DESS configuration (on the VRM website) in the browser or phone. Getting the message (like above) settings saved, but when refressing browser still shows old values, nothing has changed. VRM id: 398006

I have the same problem as @Koning, but only with setting the “Battery capacity”: when I change the value to 32 kWh, i can save it, but after that the value is 0 kW again !?

Hi all,

We’ve fixed the issue and are keeping an eye on the responsible service. The problem was that the service was unable to establish a connection to the broker, which results in the new settings not being sent to the GX device.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and wish you a good weekend!

With kind regards,

Jarco

Here working to again. Great job. wish you a good weekend!

Still unable to set battery capacity, it resets to 0 kWh after submitting…

Hey, this should be patched again for now. You might notice this issue popping up again, we’re going to investigate further tomorrow and implement a long-term fix.

With kind regards,

Unable to click submit to make changes ie) can not turn off battery balance , submit is greyed out

Hi @MasterCATZ,

We made a fix for your problem. Now setting it to Off should work for you too.

Thank you for reporting!

Best regards,
Alex Imbrea

we’re going to investigate further tomorrow and implement a long-term fix.

We’ve found the root cause; not always closing TCP connections properly, leading to connection exhaustion. This has been fixed now.

Hello,

Since the start of energy prices per 15 minutes, the DESS system is behaving abnormal. It has been a week since the batteries have been fully charged and discharged while the energy prices were high and low enough to trade.

Is there a known issue with the 15 minute prices? Or is there something else going wrong?

Hello,

Last winter season, I activated DESS in my Multiplus II and operated it with Tibber. It worked perfectly. During the summer months, I deactivated DESS because there was enough power coming from the roof.

Today, due to the electricity prices (60 cents tonight), I wanted to reactivate DESS. The required switch in the dashboard settings was set to “ON.” Unfortunately, the battery still isn’t charging, and the dashboard displays “Dynamic ESS - Off.”

Does anyone happen to know what could be causing this?

Thanks and Greetings

Hi,
You should enable it in the controls menu in the top right corner.

Great, thank you, it works now.

:+1:

Can anyone help me? For a while last year I had Dynamic ESS enabled and it was working fine. I then turned it off in favour of plain ESS charge periods. I’m now trying to turn it back on and I cannot seem to do it.

Switching the Dynamic ESS toggle switch at the top of the settings page shows a success message (Dynamic ESS Settings saved) but if I refresh, the toggle has gone back to off.

If I try to adjust any settings (like the battery capacity), I get an error message: Error octopusAccountDetails: Can not authorize energy provider account with the provided credentials.

I’ve not changed any of the Octopus account details since it was working and they seem fine.

Any ideas?

Edit: looking in the network tab, I can see that I do get the same error message when I toggle Dynamic ESS on, it’s just not dealt with in the front-end. Error octopusAccountDetails: Can not authorize energy provider account with the provided credentials

Looks like a bug on the VRM side. Pinged a colleague to look into that.

Any updates on this by any chance? I’m still receiving the error.

I can not sett battery price higher than 0.1/kwh? In SEK this is only €0,01?

Got feedback that they tested it for your site yesterday and now it should function. Sorry for the delay.

First of all, I’d advice you to set the currency correctly for the site, if you haven’t done that already (I need the number in your dashboard url order to check that). But the currency can be set under the general settings of the installation.

And even though there is a warning message, you should still be able to set it.
