3x Quattro 48/10000/140-2x100 + generator

Hi there,
I have a three phase 230V DIY ESS Quattro 48/10000/140-2x100 system with grid connected to AC-in 2, all loads and PV connected to AC-out 2. Generator is connected to AC-in 1. On the battery side there a four batterie banks, two LiFeYpo4 and two lead acid with SmartShunt 500A each. All batteries are second life. LiFeYPo4 with 123electric BMS, 1A top balancing + 4A NEEY active balancing. total: 290Ah LiFeYpo4 + 580Ah Pb. PV is 29.7kW with two SMA tripower 17K + 10K. Network via 100Mbit ethernet with EM24 energy meter, all devices connected.

firmware: Quattro v552, Cerbo GX with Beta v3.50~37, 2x SmartShunt 500A v4.16, 123electric BMS: latest from summer 2024

The daily load is fully managed by the LiFeYPo4 batteries, from November to January the lead acid batteries deliver additional energy in worse weather conditions. Furthermore one of my EV-cars should deliver energy if needed. PV surplus charge of the EV-cars is managed by self programmed Node-Red flow with goe-charger.

I have read the generator FAQ and I have further questions:
Does an 3 phase Quattro system need a three phase generator connected? Will a two phase generator work? Will a one Phase generator work?

Any hints welcome. thx

That would be the usual assumption.

Yes if switched as a group is turned off. Caveat is ESS won’t work.

So you would loose this functionality.

Why will you use a generator with a grid tied ESS?

You can use a separate Multiplus as battery charger with a second MK3 interface. Search in the Cerbo manual for MK3

Other possibility is to use a 230/48V charger. Search forum for Flatpack2.
