I’m mostly looking at the “Maximum charge current” setting here but there are maybe scenarios that are applicable to other values too.
In my option the DVCC settings should be split into two areas. The current settings that represents the absolute hard limits that I configure once and shouldn’t have to touch ever again and an area where I can change the currently used value within these hard limits.
For example. My battery bank is able to take a charge of 500A, my Alternator could do 250A but the reasonable limit for my Engine is 200A. So that’s my hard limit. But it’s something I only want to do when I’m at anchor (sailboat) or under sail. Under normal circumstances I’ll have it configured to 50A and if I need to get somewhere under engine full steam ahead then I’ll maybe dial it down to 10A.
The way the DVCC settings are currently structured it’s kind of dangerous to adjust the max charge current setting. It’s very easy to hit the toggle buttons. And it’s very easy to change the max charge voltage by accident.
