Limit charge power settings (in schedule)

In Settings → ESS there is Limit Charge, which when toggled you can set an input wattage to charge the battery sets. It would be nice to be able to have this available in the Scheduled Charge Level (each of the 5 entires) so that we can set maximum charge rate at various times of the day and night… this would be of particular importance to anyone on Time-Of-Use charging where one might want to set a base SOC and extremely limited import rate during known high pricing whilst having a high rate of import and SOC during off peak …

For example, during 11am-2pm where i am power is usually negative valued and the local wholesaler encourages retailers to provide free power, so i want to charge at max rate (10kw).. however 5pm-8pm i don’t want to charge at all because of high rate of usage, but i would want to charge at 1000w during the night (12midnight to 6am during winter) to bring it to 50%SoC if needed… etc..

This would also benefit anyone doing scheduled generator charging vs grid charging etc.

I can only see a limit inverter power option in ESS, not charge limit.
Charge limits are typically set in DVCC and in Amps.
All of these parameters can be overridden by nodered flows and also scheduled there.

What versions are you running?

latest.. public.. set it up.. then read i needed to switch to large to take a crack at node-red.. the charge limit was there before i switched to the large image. i am currently not using node-red just investigating it.. and know many would not want to go down that path but would want to change the charge limits based on time of day.

As far as I am aware that was obsoleted. It doesn’t feature in the docs either.
The inverter and assistant also current?

i believe so.. i just built it all, new install of everything.. (including veconfigure).. have 2 systems now setup option is in both…

Ok, that only appears if DVCC is disabled, which should be on for lithium/managed batteries, multiple chargers etc, so won’t appear for most typical installs.

Oh well that’s s**t… and i just learned something new.. didn’t know i was supposed to use DVCC with the new batteries i have .. but that does make sense now i have read up on it.. so having enabled that on one system the feature request still stands.. because it’s not about limiting DC charge.. but limiting AC power from the AC-IN for charging… particularly scheduled.

So remember some parameters like charge limits are also ignored it you export power.

Apart from that, you can do what you are trying to do with nodered.
