#17 phase master missing

I have a 3-phase parallel system: 9 x 5kVA MultiPlus-II GX units, with 3 units per phase. The system experiences intermittent shutdowns due to the #17 phase master missing error. In a day, it shuts down 2 to 3 times. I made sure that the comms cables are of the same lengths and that the configuration was done well. Is this common for a system like this? All RJ45 cables are new. There was no issue before when we had 6 x 5kVA units, with 2 units per phase. It just started after I increased the units to 3 units per phase. The firmware is updated for all 9 units, and they all have the same firmware. Any solution to this?

Hi do you have one gx multiplus and 8 normal or 9 gx multiplusses?

Hello Marc

Its 9 x multiplus ii GX…

Ok why? Did you disconnect all the gx devices except one? You cant have multiple gx in one system

Also whats the age difference between the new and old units? If its to far apart it will never run smooth

Comms cable lenght doesnt matter at all, ac cables need to be exact the same size/lenght

Check all cables incl dc if there is something loose or not tight enough, check fuses with a multimeter, check resistance on all cables

The units are all of the same age, as they were all supplied at the same time. If it possible that having all of them as GX is an issue? What we were told was, we can’t have a multiplus ii mixed with multiplus ii gx, they need to be the same in a parallel system.

As for the error #17 we do use BSL battery woth built in BMS and thats it.

do you reckon that if they are all GX it will continue to have this issue?

Gx and non gx can be mixed also in parallel, but you have to disconnect the gx unit internally in 8 of them, so one gx is the system controller, surprised that you got 6 gx working like that..

age is not the problem here

I would suggest to check everything thats mentioned and disconnect all gx modules except one, you might have to reconfigure, you dont also have a cerbo?

Ah OK I see what you mean. We installed 9 GX units plus 1 Cerbo GX.

I believe everything is programmed and controlled in the Cerbo… now i have to look at how things should be configured.

The only configuration I did was through VE Bus system config? Was i suppose to configure it another way?

Thats ok, but then you should disconnect all gx modules..

Thanks Marc. Will do so and if problem persists then will continue on this thread..
