We are currently utilizing the XS1400 in Power DC/DC Mode and are encountering issues with the overcurrent protection sensitivity.
Technical Specifications:
-
Input Voltage: 24 VDC
-
Output Voltage: 12 VDC (Max. 20 A)
-
Load Setup: The output is connected to a relay box controlling various peripherals.
Issue Description:
While the XS1400 operates reliably under steady-state conditions, the DC/DC output shuts down immediately as soon as a relay in the external box closes. Although the static load is relatively small (approx. 1 A), the transient in-rush current during the switching process triggers the device’s safety cutoff. Tests with an electronic load system have confirmed this behavior.
Troubleshooting Performed:
We have attempted to resolve the issue via the app by adjusting various parameters, including increasing the maximum current limit. Unfortunately, these changes have not prevented the shutdown during peak transients.
-
Is there a specific setting to adjust the sensitivity or response time of the overcurrent protection to tolerate short-term in-rush peaks?
-
Can the device be configured to a “Constant Current” mode instead of a hard shutdown when a peak is detected?
-
Are there recommended software configurations to better handle inductive or capacitive loads in DC/DC mode?
Thank you in advance for your technical assistance.
