Wiring smart shunt to the positive side?

My negative side of my house batteries is jammed by by a dozen cables, while the positive side is fairly clear (charger, load, inverter).

Is it possible to wire up the smart shunt to be on the positive end of the battery, bringing the voltage tap to the negative side (ie: supplying it with negative input voltage), and still be able to use it as a measurement device?

It would make installation a hundred times more easy if I didn’t just yet have to clean up the mess on the negative side.

No!
This will reverse bias the internal electronics.
Best to tidy up the negative wiring by using a busbar.
