Will multiplus 2 work with my original rv converter?

Do I’m rebuilding my off grid system. Originally I ran off a 2000 watt inverter and auto transfer switch. When I did this I unhooked my converter and tied into the system I was building.

Now I’m going to a multiplus 2. I tore it all apart and found out none of my dc works probably cuz I unhooked my converter. So my plan is to rebook the converter up.

I’m going to be installing a switch to bypass the multiplus during the winter so I can take my batteries out and still have power if I need to get into camper.

So my question is. Do I leave my converter hooked up? Or is there something else I need to be doing so I still have power with multiplus switched off and no batteries.

If it is mains voltage you need then this is the way.

So yes I need to hook it up to converter correct?

and when I put batteries back in in the spring do I leave converter hooked up?

@Justin1

I saw your other post.

Do you have a converter and an inverter? Or is the converter a dc to dc converter?

Are you sure you are switching off the inverter?
It is a three position switch on/off/charger only. It sounds like you are switching it into charge only so it is trying to charge batteries that aren’t there.

Ideally when the inverters batteries are not connected you need to also have a way to disconnect ac power in as well. So all power is disconnected from the unit.

I think it’s a converter. It’s what runs all my int lights and whatnot.
I’ll have to look at it again after work to make sure I’m switching it off. I think I was but now I’m second guessing myself.

Does it convert from mains (AC) to DC?

Yes I think so.

Would you be ok with sharing picture of your install?

Yes when I get home tonight I’ll take some pictures before it gets dark

Ok got home and put everything back together.
Now it seems like it’s working. No loud humming at all. Nice and quiet. I’ll run some more loss tests this weekend when I have more time. But I must have had something wrong the first time. Appreciate everyone who responded. Im sure I’ll have more questions to come.
