Why is my Multi RS (with Cerbo GX) on external control?
In the app the ESS mode is selected as no batterylife. There is nothing related to external control enabled, why is it on external control? How can I enable normale status like Bulk and Absorption?
During night, when it’s only grid and battery you’ll see other states, like inverting, etc.
When there is solar present it switches to external control because the system (DVCC) it’s “sensing” an “additional” device/charger present, besides grid and battery. Of course, the MPPTs are inside the Multi RS, but they are handled as separate devices.
All these must work in harmony and are handled by the DVCC inside Cerbo and therefore you’ll see that the Multi RS is controlled from outside.
Just plot the Multi RS state on VRM and you’ll see…
If you disable DVCC you’ll see those (different) states. But you can’t do this always, depends on the battery/BMS you have.
Or, if you don’t use Cerbo, you’ll see those (other) internal states.
The PV is not connected at all. The RS is on external control ALWAYS. During charging and discharging. I always have DVCC activated, same on my Multiplusses GX. There I do see the different statusses, only the Multi RS does not show a different status
Strange, as this is how my system behaves.
When I disconnect the solar (similar with your status quo), it starts to show me “inverting” instead of “ext control”.
But it could be a difference in firmware, as I have some old ones, in both Multi RS and Cerbo.
