I’ve only had the system for a week, but I’m struggling to understand something. When the DC-DC charger and MPPT start to slow down, it usually indicates the batteries are nearly full—but the GX Touch 70 and the data in VictronConnect don’t seem to update to reflect that.
Last week, the battery level suddenly jumped from 44% to 100% in an instant. Since then, it’s just been steadily dropping again, even though the charging status suggests the batteries should be close to full again.
Many thanks. It does appear to be configured correctly in the BMS I think??? Now seeing balancer status as unknown. All batteries were charged fully before being installed to the system.
What have you got connected to the left hand side of the BMS. Have you got a charger on the left hand side. Only the batteries should be on the left hand side. Image from the datasheet.
Have you grounded your batteries negative direct to the chassis. If you have then the alternator charge current is not being measured properly. If you need to connect your batteries to the chassis then the chassis connection is made on the right hand side of the BMS, the same as loads and chargers.
Many thanks. I will ask for the wiring diagrams from the installer and then check it all matches up. I had it all fitted to the van before collection so not 100% sure.
