I have a new Aolithium 12V 100Ah LifePO4 battery that is totally dead. It never worked from when I received it. I purchased a Victron IP67 12 17 charger hoping to restart it. I am not a expert in any of this stuff and looking for some help. I installed the victron app, found my device and set the charger to Li-ion and the charge current to 2A. Connected the battery and hoped. The charger dropped the amps to zero over time but it appears the battery did not ‘wake’. Any suggestions on what to do?
If as you describe it to be dead from when received, under the sale of goods act - return it as not fit for purpose/ as described.
Ps does battery have Bluetooth or way to communicate wiith it?
It does have Bluetooth which worked initially, now however the app / Bluetooth cannot find the device (I presume because the battery is totally dead… not sure). I should say that Aolithium did refund me my funds but reading about how the BMS on a dead or low battery might prevent a charger from working I thought I would try see if I could get it going
Well since the seller refunded the battery, you might as well try everything for a free battery .
There is a procedure that you can use although it is risky;
ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE THE SKILLS TO DO IT, THE BATTERY MAY POTENTIALLY CATCH FIRE IF IT IS DONE POORLY!!!
Here is a link from Victron that explains how to recover a lithium battery

Thanks for that; are steps 6.1.5 1, 2, 3 done on the individual cells removed from the BMS system. The Aolithium battery does allow you to open it up and access the BMS and the cells. I have a neighbour who is an electronics junky; might see if he is interested in stepping through this with me.
you have to disconnect the BMS system; you have to manually monitor the voltages.
Yes it is preferable that someone with good knowledge does the manipulation.
As I pointed out in my previous message the procedure can be dangerous.
It has Bluetooth but not working, I’m guessing because its totally dead
