Hello guys,
I have no idea where I have to report this.
There is a minor but fatal UX bug in the mobile interface of the VRM dashboard portal:
If you drop down the quick settings from the right top, and you want to change the generator input current limit: it is very hard to type a number without the UI interface immediately sending this to the Cerbo GX, sending it to the MPII.
I wanted to change the input current from my phone from 9A to 9.5A and ended up sending 99A to the cerbo and this immediately tripped my generator. I imagine that in other situations, this can also be changed on the fly and also might trip several breakers.
There are several other settings that are scary enough to have in the mobile web interface in the current way. For a desktop browser it is perfect. But for a mobile web this part of the UX needs to be optionally user disabled until it works for a touchscreen environment.
One of the other things I realized that might be easily triggered is: turn the MPII off, but that seems harder to trigger than sending 99A to the minimal input current…
I think the biggest problem with the interface is that it takes a while before the dimensions of the interface is clear, hence the browser is continuously redrawing and moving all the interface places. So if you think you might be selecting one of the innocent options, you might accidentally select turn off because the UI just changed the position of this menu item.
(offtopic: the tags do not allow me to tag it is as VRM UX)
