Hello,
the clamp (just the joint to the body) of current sensor is broken. Is it possible to replace it with the KEMET C/CT-0810 or is there any other alternative possible? @Victron: It’s very fragile because of the very thin material. I know other clamps they have a metal rod as a joint axis.
The fact that they are very sensitive is also stated in the installation instructions.
However, you do not need a new clamp. You just have to make sure that the ‘half ring’ rests properly on the housing and that the ‘metal connection’ with the sheet metal core is made properly. Isoband and/or cable ties are completely sufficient here.
The meter would have to be calibrated to use a specific CT definitely.
A CT is a passive component.
You can cable tie over it. (Yes i know not the greatest solution). As long as the ferrite lines up on the CT is will be fine. Its not like it moves alot (or at least it shouldn’t be)
