Yesterday I noticed in the VRM beta that consumption is now split into categories such as EV charging and Heat pump. I also saw that the Energy Meter VM-3P75CT has this role available in the settings.
I’m not sure whether this will eventually be used for the DESS strategy, although that would be pretty cool.
Now I was wondering whether I can also assign this role to a Virtual Device or Virtual AC Load. My heat pump is fully monitored via Shelly, but through a Z-wave variant connected to Home Assistant.
My idea was to link the data via a Virtual Device or Virtual AC Load, but I don’t see any option for the ‘Heat pump’ role.
Does anyone know whether this is already possible?
Thanks, Nick, for the quick response!
Is it already known whether the system, such as DESS, responds to this in the case of an Energy Meter VM-3P75CT with the role set to “Heatpump”? Or is it, for now, only a display of the different consumption values?
I believe this is more visualisation currently.
I don’t have insight to what the plans are for this but it certainly does allow for more fine grained control of loads. Will be interested to see where it goes.
What I have found is that there is little that we can come up with as a community that hasn’t already been dreamt up by the engineering team.
If you’re lucky maybe @Barbara has some insights that can be shared on the next release notes post.
