VictronConnect 6.40
App has worked on this phone for several years.
After updating to 6.40 it now crashes immediately on startup (“android reports - App keeps crashing”).
Uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted, verified permissions. Cleared data.
Same Victron MPPT connects normally using the same version of VictronConnect on a Samsung S9.
Is this a known issue?
I have a Samsung a01, UI core V. 4.1, android V. 12 and the same has happened for me. An auto update occurred after I last checked my small system. The only way the program stays up is if I have bluetooth off, which doesn’t help. As soon as I enable Bluetooth the program drops out and I get the same error message. Uninstall, reboot, reinstall etc. No go. I was able to connect with my smartsolar 75/15 with the android v.5/6/7 software from the archives to atleast see it again, but not my smartshunt or BT dongle as they were labeled unknown devices.
I read about 1 guy buying a new phone just to use the app again but I’d rather see if it’s possible to get the previous version and turn off auto updates, or just wait it out for an update fix (limp along with the archived version for basic monitoring)???
Hi, this is an issue that affects certain phones.
It has been fixed and the update sent to Google Play and should be available soon for all users.
If you can’t wait, you can download the APK from www.victronenergy.com and install it manually.
