Victron EVCS

Hello
This is my first experience with a Victron product.
I installed a Victron EVCS station for personal use.
I bought victron because I need a product that works in any conditions at any time.

I received the station with Fimware 1.23, I upgraded to version v2.00 then to v2.01 C025 without problems all good.

But I can’t start charging the electric car.
I tried to calibrate it CP a thousand times, I changed two charging cables, I tried to charge two different cars, I tried auto/manual charging start, I tried multiple settings and resets of the station but i cant make this to work normally and charge.
I connected directly to the grounding of the house (measured 2.8ohm) in order not to have any problems with GND.

I don’t get any error message.

The station shows that it is starting to charge, but it shows 0W and after a few seconds it shows that the charge is complete.

P.S. I managed to make it work randomly a few times, but for me it’s a “pain in the a**” to make settings all the time, to always calibrate it so that it works.

Please give me ideas to make it work because I already think I’m going to smash it to pieces with a hammer

If it’s standalone, and set to manual and connected correctly on the phases the it should normally charge after a cp calibration.

What manual settings are you using ?
Did you change anything to the setup ?
Did you check the phases ? ( no phase rotation ? )
What type of charge would you want to do ? 3 phase 1 phase ? Amps ?

Hello.
I have tried evrey combination posible EV Charger autostart enable/disable or contactor active when charge enable/disable.
Ive tried to calibrate CP many times. 2 -3 times i was lucky and worked randomly after I changed the car but only with manual star.
As I said above initially I thought it was a problem with the grounding GND.

I am using single phase max 22A I use 6mm copper wires with simple 25A trip braker

The only thing that I dont have is a RCBO.

I attach a small clip with my problem - the small realy is heard working on/off in the station but the main relay does not start.

Thank you for your time.

If you do not hear the main relais , should be a solid “tock” or “plock” sound, then I think you potentially have a faulty EV Charger with a bad relais. Let me try to make a movie what it should be doing.
Another question : Did you already contact your distributor / installer with this issue ?

Hello

I know how the main relay sounds is a quite a bit loud, I only hear a little relay with 0W charge. As I said i`ve make it work a few times but randomly without any succes to make it run stable.
For me is enough, most probably is a faulty relay. It is what it is. This station beat me. I will uninstall it put in the box. Sadly Victron vs Me 1-0
I will contact Victron service Romania and I will update you now the problem was solved.

Thx

Eurika

I solved my broken Victron EVCS.
After I talk with the local service they suggest me that maybe is a bad wire so I FIND IT - the A2 wire the screw was loose and the A1 was not far away to be loose.

Thx guys.

This is not the first time I’ve heard about loose wires, connectors popped and users that had to open themselves the unit to fix the problems.
And what is sad that I’ve seen Victron people that are encouraging the users to do that.

Wonder what happens with the Victron quality control on these devices? These kind of things only shatter the trust on the brand…

On a fun note/logo: “Victron - turning users into electricians since 1975!” :innocent:
