I’m in the US. I have two Victron Multiplus II’s (3000watt each) serving both 120v and 240v. Can I run 240v using two hot wires to L1 and L2 to the Victron EV Charger? Is it necessary to use ferrules to make the connnection or can I make the connection using bare wires?
I don’t think so… In the US, the two current carrying conductors are each 120v referenced to ground. That’s different than the EU and I’m guessing you’ll run into some weird issues if you try (I doubt the EV charger would turn on). The vehicle ports / pin outs are also different.
I figured it out. One hotwire to L1 and the other hotwire to Neutral. Works great in the US.
Interesting. What about the EV side? Did that work? What type of cable did you use on that side?
Yes. Everything working. I ordered the cable from China. European standard on the charger end, and NACS on the car end.
