Victron Connect and limited connectivity

I’m a little confused as to the Victron Connect app. On the main Victron site it shows the person clicking through all this configuration and setting different things. When I connect to my MS2 12/3k I get… pretty much nothing. It shows me the input draw, the output draw, and my batter voltage and charging state. That’s it. I can turn the unit on and off and that appears to be the extent of what I can configure. Am I missing something here? I really need to make some changes because this unit is killing my batteries with a low storage voltage and I’m just kind shocked how lacking in configuration capabilities this unit is. Between this and the god-awful clip connectors for power I’m bordering on regret for buying this unit.

@Gorf Did you read the victron connect manual and enter the password you can obtain from your dealer to access the detailed settings? Are you using a MK3 dongle, which is required? Configuring the system is an essential first step so hope this link will help you get sorted. 9. Settings Mode A possible consolation with the clip connectors are as with any other is that once it is done you should not have worry about it other than a “bedded in” inspection down the line at some point.

Great ANOTHER thing to buy. This is pathetic. My EG4’s didn’t nickel and dime me to death like this. Ok, I’ll buy yet another damn thing to make this thing work.

once it is done you should not have worry about it

hahahaha brah, they literally wiggled out from some casual vibration while I was setting it up on the wall in my garage and it messed up the connection due to arcing. I wouldn’t put this thing on an RV to save my life with those pathetic clip interfaces. The replacement part they sent me I desoldered, and drilled and replaced with screw down terminals. Haven’t had a issue since.

And LOL @ trying to get a jacketed 6/2 cable into those worthlessly small pass throughs. You can’t get a cable clamp on them and the position of the internal clamp forces the cable against the edge of the case. I’m considering notching it out with a dremel.

If you have a Cerbo and access to the VRM, you can configure it without the need for a MK3. Fingers crossed, once you discover the wealth of features, it will only grow on you, odd wart and all. PS - An important aspect of cabling is to ensure it it supported adequately and don’t rely on the connectors only to hold it in place, especially when mobile.

Whats a Cerbo?

Ps - without knowing what settings do what, any adjusting of settings may cause magic smoke.
Have a read of manuals / guidance before adjusting settings.

Cool, Cool… what’s a Cerbo?

You could just use Google or search on the Victron website…

lol $250 box to provide functionality that my EG4’s came with? Sheesh Victron… ok thanks for the info. I think this threat has told me all I need about my long term relationship with Victron.

I feel gorf isnt to become a regular poster on here, as he seems not to have done any pre-purchase research.
Ah such a loss.
