V3.70 betas: built-in relays can now be named and have been moved to the Switch pane

Hi,

Yes many more options are being worked on :+1:

Use switch 2 to turn off mine PV system in case the dynamic energy price is negative (more than energy tax) and grid export will cost money.
Happened already twice this year.

I’m running Beta 3.70~33 and can’t get the GX relays to show up in the device list. I tried switching them from manual to something else, and back to manual but the “GX device relays” device never shows up. I am also using a IO Extender 150 if that has any effect on this function?

Also a question, will renaming the relays on the GX change the name of the relay in the VRM portal’s ‘controls’ button on the dashboard?

Hi!

For the switches on MPPTs thats connected to VenusOS and set to manual control in the MPPT settings, Is there any plans on including these relays in the new switch pane?

/Kaj

I tried this setting one of the Relays to “Manual” which moved it to the new display just fine in v3.70~35. BUT now the other relay cannot be accessed at all as the entire “Relays” section Settings → Integrations → Relays is GONE. So relay 2 is on the Brief page, but NEITHER 1 or 2 is accessible in Integrations. So I cannot add Relay 1 to Brief, or remove 2 from Brief. This has not improved in ~37

As of ~44 this is still not fixed. I cannot access Relay 1 in Integrations > Relays to move it to the Brief Page.. because Relays is MISSING. See prior msg. This is because I only set Relay 2 to “Manual” and the Integrations > Relays disappeared.. so I cannot change Relay 1 to “Manual” and get it on the Brief page

Hi,

Wondering how things are progressing with the relay options and getting rid of the unused access button.

Running GX Cerbo MK II in Beta version for a while, Currently Ver 3.70~45

I like the new naming option of the relays it works perfectly with one niggle.

The “original” relay button is still on the screen which goes nowhere.

Any chance of getting this to vanish as the new “nameable” button is working fine

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reports! we’ll look into this.

Hi,

I’m really happy to see this feature coming soon. The absence of this button was a showstopper for moving from the classic UI to the new UI.

Yesterday, I had a conversation with “Victron Support AI” in https://professional.victronenergy.com which was claiming that this feature will be available in the next major version 4.xx and even hallucinated a changelog for it. For those interested, I attach the export of my conversation.

Thanks for sharing that - not good indeed. We’ll work on that.

:joy:
Hallucinations are the name of the game with AI. I’m using grok with amazing results to do the legwork for several projects but never without oversight of the final result. It takes a whole new discipline of prompt engineering not to get drawn into endless correction loops only getting worse results. I can’t imagine using an AI as customer facing agent (yet).

Here also built-in relays missing. (v3.70-45) (also missing in VRM)

Missing relays have been resolved.
I switched to the Classic UI. There, I was able to set the relays to manual. Now they’re visible in the New UI (and VRM) as well.

When I diabled 1 relay then they are gone in the “Physical I/O” menu. (switch back to classic UI and set relay to manual then they are also back in the new ui)
