I’d love a bit more information on this and how it is able to be used — my five minutes of “playing” with the setting didn’t get me charging anything. Is the intent of this feature to enable bidirectional charging? It’d be great to know more about the implementation and how to best use it and test it.
Hey @ndrew , this feature is to make the Orion XS be visualised and treated as a load to the system, rather than as a charger.
Its not related to bi-directional charging.
Had a question on the Orion XS feature “Add option to set a Orion XS to be a common DC-DC converter that takes power from the main battery, rather than its default: charging the main battery with (usually) powered by an alternator.”
Is that suppose to fix: Orion XS not charging - #9 by silvercreek?
I love to know, then I will start pulling a cable to it and testing it.
Yes, it fixes exactly that issue.
Perfect. Will test this.
I did have some issues on my XS1400 V1.11 and Cerbo GX V3.60-75.
Charging from 12V REC BMS to 24V battery.
Goes in to float after 2-3 seconds (even when 2V lower than target voltage).
And after 60 seconds ON, it goes in to “Error #67 BMS connection lost”.
But then I reset the XS1400 to factory defaults, and now works fine.
Seems like it was stuck BMS slave mode.
