Hello, I have an existing bank of 6 - 100AH Victron Superpack (not the smart version) batteries in parallel (12V) on my sailboat which have performed perfectly. These batteries have been treated well, never discharged deeply and never overcharged so I want to keep them for as long as they are healthy. They are now about 4 years old. I would like to add another 400 AH of capacity and am wondering about using 4 of the 100AH Victron Smart NG batteries due to the more compact size and increased data provided. My proposed setup would put the 4 new batteries in parallel as a seperate bank with a disconnect switch from the original existing bank and from the vessel house loads. I am using Victron chargers and solar controllers to charge my existing bank using the Lithium setting on these devices. Is there any reason that I cannot use the same charge sources now wired to my existing bank to also charge the new bank of NG batteries? Is there any reason that if both the existing bank and the new NG bank are fully charged or otherwise at the same voltage that I cannot use both banks together for vessel house loads? Thanks!
