Unsure about the correct wiring

Hello everyone,

I’m currently upgrading my camper van to a LiFePO₄ battery system using Victron components. I’ve purchased everything I need, but I’m still a bit unsure about the correct wiring and how all the components should be connected together.

Is there perhaps a Victron configuration or wiring tool that can help with designing a complete system?

These are the components I have:

- Victron LiFePO₄ 12.8V 200Ah (older generation)

- Victron SmallBMS (BMS400100000)

- Victron SmartShunt

- Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30A

- Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/20

- Victron Blue Smart IP65 12/15A

The system will be connected to my gel starter battery, and I also have a Schaudt EBL 263. The EBL will mainly be used to switch the Blue Smart IP65 charger on and off, so that part is clear.

One thing I’m unsure about is the remote on/off (yellow) wires. Both the Orion and the MPPT have a yellow control wire. Can both of these be connected to the same output on the SmallBMS, or is there a better way to wire them?

If anyone has a wiring diagram, recommendations, or experience with a similar setup, I’d really appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Edwin

You will not get a wiring diagrams supplied. Either employ an installer familiar with Victron or start reading the manuals for each product (found under downloads on each product page), which includes wiring diagrams examples and also read Victron wiring unlimited. Also Victron publish example system schematics. There is also Victron Professional, sign up for free and go through the training materials. The terms of use of the community is that it is not a design service.

The product pages have installation manuals and system examples.

Definitely take the time to draw it out yourself even if it on a piece of paper.
