Unmanaged solar charger for 3xMP2-48-5000 / Pylontech

Just a simple question,

i have 3x MP2-48-5000 in 3 phase setup with 6x Pylontech US5000, Cerbo GX etc.

For emergency charging with a generator (or the V2L of my car) i have added a Vevor 48-6000 hybrid solar charger.

This charger is only attached to the 48V Lynx distributor busbar and normaly off.

Now i have built a motor “carport” with 6 solar panels as a roof. to connect these i can buy an extra mppt 150/45 but the Vevor already has solar charger built in.

This is unmanaged to the cerbo GX but the pylontech is communicating the state of charge to the cerbo.

is it possible to let it work without future problems? The Vevor is set to 53,2V max charge and when pylontechs are full solar charging will stop.

@huib Set the Vevor charge voltage to 52V as recommended for a Victron / Pylontech setup. You will have to enable DC loads as the system would obviously not be aware of this DC source resulting in overal system monitoring discrepancies. Personally I would opt for the MPPT to keep things simple and automated other than for the V2G aspect which I cannot comment on.

The Vehicle to Load connection is an emergency backup.

The solar will be a permanent connection. Thanks for the DC-Loads suggestion. in case there is a mis-communication problem i can also opt for a DC Shunt probably in stead of an MPPT 250-60..? ( that will save me 250 euro)

@huib Shunt is also an option or you can reconfigure PV strings to use a smaller MPPT even. Use the MPPT to play around as with the panel database which has acces to 1000’s of panels, it is very easy and quick to play out different scenarios.

The panel configuration is now 6 in series. Total 225 VOC and 8,88 A

The cable already connected is 6mm2 with a total length of 45m (20+ 25m) so this is sufficient for the size. When changing to 2x 3 panels in series the village drops to 113 VOC with 17,8A current. The suggested diameter cable for the length is then 16mm2 according to victron toolkit, making it unlogical.

Ok. Makes sense to keep the current strings and just add a smartshunt.
