Sustain Mode with Digital Multi Control (DMC) 200/200A GX?

Hi!
I have a boat system containing a MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50, Cerbo S-GX and several chargers (beside many other Victron devices) in sustain mode. Everything running fine so far.

What if I would connect a Digital Multi Control (DMC) 200/200A GX to my MultiPlus? Will it overwrite the sustain mode i.e. if I would choose “Charger Only” at the DMC?

Maybe my question was not clear enough:

  • what if I would put the DMC to OFF. Will the sustain mode enabled in the Multiplus nevertheless overwrite this and will start charging at <30% SoC?
  • what if I would put my DMC to ON. Will this charge the batteries all the time to 100% as it overwrites the sustain mode?

Do you mean in combination with the “Solar & Wind Priority” feature?
There is nothing about that in the manual, so I guess the DMC will work normally as extension for the LEDs/switch at the MultiPlus.

To overwrite the sustain mode you will need a VE.Bus Smart dongle or a GX device as described in the manual.

Yes, the “sustain” mode is the Solar & Wind Priority” feature.

I don´t want to disable the feature (i.e. via MK3 USB). I would like to know if it will not work when a DMC is connected, as the DMC setting always would overwrite the sustain mode (or not).

What happens, if I would be in sustain mode and then I would connect a DMC to the Multiplus and would put the DMC switch to charge only? Would it start charging the batteries to 100% and would keep it at this level or would the sustain mode stay in place?

The DMC is only an extension of the build-in switch/LEDs.
So just try to switch the device to charger-only with the switch at the device and you will see what happens.

I don’t think this will override the sustain mode, there is nothing like that mentioned in the manual.

The manual says how to set the system to change to 100% with a VE.Bus Smart dongle or a GX device.

Yeah, but it would be a great feature, for installation without dmc the frontpanel “charge only” should also cancel sustain.
