Thank you so much! I hadn’t really looked into that before. But it’s good to know for the future.
Diese Integration ist Gold wert!
Es erspart eine Menge Probleme!! Besten DANK!
I’d like to second this.
I currently have a Multiplus II implemented in a home ESS, AC coupled with two solar inverters (SolarEdge and AP systems). I’ve added the two inverters using Modbus TCP with sunspec using my existing network infrastructure.
I’d really like for the system have as little points of failure as possible and being dependend on a network infrastructure for important functionality like communication with solar inverters is something I’d really like to get rid of. For example, when there’s a grid failure and the Multiplus switches to off-grid mode, the SolarEdge inverter sometimes reboots (probably very fussy about changes in grid voltage). It then takes ages for it to connect back with the Cerbo GX if it connects at all. Also the network infrastructure eats a lot of energy so in case of a grid failure and low battery I’d like to shut down the network without losing connection to the inverters.
It is not that the inverters do not support Modbus TCP but I’d rather connect them directly to the Cerbo GX and Modbus RTU/RS-485 and cut out the middle man so the system can be as stable as possible ![]()
Other than that my Victron is rock solid and I’m a very happy user (and advocate
).
