Now that it’s been determined that several installations are experiencing this issue, what’s the next step? Will Victron, perhaps in consultation with SolarEdge, investigate what they can do about this? For now, I think I’ll turn off the connection and have the PV yield measured again by a Victron…

You will probably not have the dynamic power limiting this way. However if the modbus interface is in a disconnected state it is questionable if that would continue to work. I guess the frequency based reduction should still function… right?

So far every indication is that this is an issue with SE and how it handles these requests. It is an open standard and so far only these systems appear to have an issue, ultimately the best victron can do is make sure they are fully compatible with the specification. As a community we can’t answer …

I hope you get more out of them then me. They won’t help me because I’m not an installer and my installer has been bought by a company that won’t answer any requests… EDIT: they said an installer needs to “check some settings” but they won’t elaborate on what

@iburger you probably have seen the ACK, RST being sent back from solaredge right before it stops responding right? I understand the RST as a termination of the IP connection, but Venus still tries to use it? Or am I mistaken? Maybe a filter on packets was applied in the screenshot?

In my case time-outs of modbus connection to SolarEdge (SE16K fw 0004.0023.0036) only happen when inverter is in standby mode and go away after it switches on. I’ve only noticed dropouts after the latest SolarEdge update, before it hadn’t had any issues.
