Solar System Start Up Sequence

I’m totally new to Victron. I have a brand new Victron system, I am going to start up soon.

I was wondering what the best startup sequence would be to:

Update firmware on all components:

· Cerbo GX
· MPPT 100 50
· Multiplus II 3000 120 12V
· BMV 700
· GX Touch 70

Adjust settings for batteries:

· 2 - CHINS LiFePO4 Battery 12V 280AH Lithium Battery – 560AH total

CHINS sent me an email saying I need these settings for the MPPT:

· Charging Limit Voltage: 14.2V-14.4V
· Over Voltage Disconnect Voltage: 14.6V
· Over Voltage Reconnect Voltage: 13.8V
· Float Charging Voltage: 13.8V
· Discharging Low Voltage Disconnect Voltage: 11.6V
· Low Voltage Reconnect Voltage: 12.4V
· Under Voltage Warning Voltage: 12.8V

I have breakers and disconnects on all components including solar PV in.

Would I start by Bluetooth into the Cerbo GX, then power up the MPPT, then the MP II?

Can I do it via the VRM cloud on my laptop? I do have a VRM account already setup.

I just want to get the system up and running correctly without many/any headaches and make sure the battery specs are set up correctly.

Thank you

As you have 2 batteries charge each of them individually so they are both charged to the same level and with balanced cells before connecting them to your system.

It’s wise to precharge your inverter.

Disconnect any AC or PV input during the commissioning of a system.

Now you can turn the MP on and you can set the correct charge and V settings in the MP and MPPT. Update firmwares where needed.

Once all is up to date and running OK. Connect AC input and PV. Lastly connect loads.

Thank you! Not sure what I need to do to “precharge the inverter”?

To avoid a (big) spark when first connecting your battery bank.
