Is there a setting to get the solar produced to go straight to the grid and not used in the house.
My electric company gives free electricity on some Sundays. I’ve got the batteries to charge fully while on free electricity.

Sundays … or sunny days ? ![]()
Do you get paid for the energy you feed into the grid? If not… why do you want to feed it in?
just use the option “keep the batterie charged” in your ESS Mode …
It depends. For AC coupled solar you can change the menu item DVCC maximum charge rate to a low value. AC generation above this amount will not be used for battery charging and will flow to house loads and out to the grid.
I use NodeRed to change this register at different times of the day - and you will need to set it to a high value when you want to charge from the grid
For surplus DC generation (via MPPTs) I haven’t found a way to make Victron push this to the grid. Mine goes straight to battery charging. I’d be pleased to find a way to control charge amps for DC solar.
my provider sometimes gives free electricity on a Sunday. We had it for 8 hours free today. Annoyingly not home to make the most out of it
So set the batteries to fully charge while free from the grid.
I get paid to export back to the grid.
You could feed power into the grid through one phase and charge the battery through another… But not through the same phase…
Do you have a meter that tracks grid feed-in and consumption separately?
I have a summer feed in via NodeRed for AC solar that you can use it automates automagically in April and reverts September. Hopefully it works for you or is at least a building block
Yes the smart meter records both. After I asked the question suddenly thought I’m on single phase and can’t have both. Today the sun was so crap didn’t have to worry about exporting much ![]()

If you don’t want your PV power to go into the battery… just set the allowed charging current to 0
Except that’s ignored when export is enabled.
Export also only traditionally happens when the battery is full.
Unless you force an override with the setpoint.
We don’t know his system yet… does he have MPPTs or maybe even microinverters in the system…
But you’re right… the value of 0 is then ignored…
Fair point, presumed since the intention is to export at all cost.
