Smart Solar MPPT 100/50 not using Battery Sense voltage/temp when using VE-Direct Bluetooth dongle

My batteries have a Victron Battery Sense in the front box on the trailer. I have a VE.Smart network setup to use battery sense info across 6 other Victron devices. One of those is a Smart Solar 100/50 that is too far away to see the Battery Sense.

So, I added a Bluetooth dongle and it can now communicate with the battery sense. I added it to the smart network, but it does not use the battery sense voltage when charging and enters absorption early. I know this because the battery V shown on the MPPT is higher than the battery sense and triggers absorption early.

Is this a bug, Or is there a known fix. Not really a big deal since absorption will just go much longer as the batteries continue to take amps. But it would be better if it worked right and especially if it read the temp to cease charging when the batteries are cold.

Hi,

Based on the serial numbers, it looks like the MPPT with serial HQ2122722TQ is also still connected to the VE.Smart network, besides the VE.Direct dongle being connected. Does it help to remove the network from the MPPT itself?

But it also looks like something weird is going so and we are going to look into this.

With kind regards,
Thiemo van Engelen

Thanks for the quick response, and checking into this on your end.

Earlier I had removed the controller from the network, and may have added it back later. I removed it again and see no change.

Wonder if I need to turn off bluetooth on the controller, assuming the dongle would keep me in comms with the controller?
