Smart Shunt with VE DIrect and iPhone

I had problems with the Smart Shunt power cable shaking loose so installed a VEDirect to USB-C cable as an alternative to bluetooth. With the USB connected to my recent iPhone the Victron Connect app will only connect via bluetooth and not via the cable. If I turn off bluetooth on my phone the app doesn’t see any devices.

Am I missing something?

Was it a genuine Victron cable?

I had lots of problems with other cables between my RPi and shunt losing signal at random points.

Problem went away when I got Victron cables.

Does connect work directly with usb?

Unfortunately, Apple iPhone/iPad doesn’t support USB OTG.
