Scrolling through my smart shunt readings I’ve noticed
Bottom section voltage @ 655.34
Top section voltage @ - 642 .48v
But can’t find explanation in my manual
Is there an explanation ?
Is the mid point voltage sense connected to anything?
Hi Mike
Nothing connected to mid point, I have only connected from volt + on the shunt to battery.
Try connecting the mid point voltage detection of the shunt to either gnd, battery mid or +ve. Looks like it’s picking up some stray current from somewhere.
Thank you Mike,
I will get on that in the morning, although the first job will be repairing 2nd power cable I managed to step on the fuse carrier oops.
If connecting this to ground, it would not need a fuse. Also if connecting to bat pos, it can just be looped to the other voltage input with a short wire.
Ok got that but don’t want to push two wires into one of the shunt connections so I will use second power cable connect to same position as 1st v+ on battery then back to shunt I think the aux terminal. Ok on that in the morning. Tank you again
Doug
Hi MIke
Decided to connect the 2nd power cable to starter battery, with a very satisfactory result I believe you were spot on, Ive also found victrons calculations for mid point so going to play with that.
Again Thank you.
