Android tablet for remote display

Im in the process of looking for a cheap android tablet to convert into a remote consol display so i can mount it on the wall in my kitchen.
I understand you have to scan the qr code to install the victron software, so for cheapness sake, whats the minimum tablet requirements?
Im looking at an Alcatel Pixi 4 8063 which is said to have Android 6, would this work?

Nothing under android 6 theoretically. [According to the thread in beta.]
(NEW: Use an Android tablet as dedicated GX Wi-Fi Display (beta))

But even then be careful how far behind the new version of OS… It doesn’t take long for the OS (security) to be obsolete. I would find something with at least 8.
But a plain browser with the remote console address on over LAN works just fine as well

Thanks, so basically i could simply do what i currently do on my phone with the vrm? But ill want the screen to stay on permanently, is that possible?
Sorry ive not experimented yet.

With the new GUI v2 it might be. I haven’t left one up permanently for a while.

At least with the GUI v2 the two screens can display differently as well. So touching kne and going through menus doesn’t affect the other.

Thanks, ill give it a try
